Personal Affects Sisterlocks® Master Stylist Establishment Package

Sisterlocks is offered as a package of 3 visits:

1. The Sisterlocks Consultation
2. The Locking Session (may be divided into two to manage client's sitting time).
3. The follow-up re-tightening session (done after at least 2 shampooings).

First Visit: The Consultation
*At the time of your consultation, hair must be clean and free of ALL extensions, heavy oils, and conditioners.

During this session, we will discuss your personal hair care history and lifestyle to determine if Sisterlocks is right for you. You will also have a cluster of approximately 8-12 "SAMPLE LOCKS" put in your hair to see if they will hold, check sizes, verify the amount of scalp showing, settling-in time, etc. This consultation is essential for both you and your Consultant to ensure you get your Sisterlocks done in the most suitable way.

Second Visit: The Locking Session (May be divided up to manage client's sitting time.)

The locking process can take from 10-20 hours or even longer in some cases. The average Sisterlocks customer will leave this session with an average of 400 locks! We will provide you with a "Starter Kit" that includes the proper shampoo for starting your locks, tiny rubber bands and "tip sheets" on grooming and shampooing as your locks settle in. Be sure to schedule your follow-up visit before you leave. Good maintenance is the key to gorgeous Sisterlocks over time.

Third Visit: Follow-up

This visit should be scheduled after at least two shampooings, which is usually within one month from the date of your Locking Session. Your Consultant will monitor the integrity of your locks, tighten them up and give you an idea of how long the settling-in process is likely to take. You can also begin discussing styling tips for the 'total look' that's right for you!

On-going follow up visits

We recommend scheduling your first few retightening appointments at 4 to 6 week intervals to easily monitor the progress of your locks. This way the progress of your locks can be easily monitored. As your locks mature, your Consultant will be able to determine how often you will need to come in for re-tightening on a regular basis. The average time between visits is 4-8 weeks, depending on the hair type and rate of growth.

Sisterlocks Establishment Package

*Base price for Sisterlocks package is $1200 for the first 5 inches of hair.

Length, density and the size of Sisterlocks determine additional costs.
$100 per inch after the first 5 inches of hair.
Your $100 Consultation Fee is used to book your appointment. In addition, there is a $200 deposit (totaling $300), is due at the time of booking. ALL deposits are NON-refundable
At the time of $200 deposit, all package appointments are booked and confirmed.
Deposit is non-refundable, scheduling notice 5 business days.
Balance is due the day of establishment.
Your first retightening must be scheduled and performed no later than 8 weeks after your establishment

Chasrah & Roxanne have over 35 years of combined experience working with Sisterlocks, making them highly knowledgeable and skilled. They know how to select the proper locking techniques and home care products to ensure your locks look their best.

Chasrah is known for her "lightning-fast" retightening and Roxanne, for her skill in the repair and reattachment of damaged locks. We love Sisterlocks and do not offer services for traditional locks, palm rolling, faux loxx or loxx extensions.

Q: What are Sisterlocks?
A: Sisterlocks is a natural hair management system that creates tiny style-able locks. It allows women with tightly textured hair to take advantage of a wide range of today's hairstyles without having to alter the natural texture of their hair or add any products or heat.

Q: Can I get Sisterlocks if I have relaxed hair?
A: Yes. Though the transition will take more time, your hair care professional who is trained in Sisterlocks techniques can help you make that transition. Your styling options will increase as your natural texture grows.

Q: Do I need to have 'fine' hair for Sisterlocks to work?
A: Not at all! In fact, the coarse, thick 'nappy' hair is best for Sisterlocks. Your natural abundant texture adds body and makes styling easier.

Q: Does this mean that once I get Sisterlocks, I can still change hairstyles?
A: Yes! Sisterlocks are a lot less limiting than extensions because it is your natural hair. You can curl it, braid it, wear a ponytail, cut it, spray or mousse it, wear bangs and parts - You name it!

Q: Can Sisterlocks be taken out?
A: Technically, yes, though the procedure is so tedious, you will not want to get Sisterlocks with that intention. Anyway, once you discover the range of freedom with Sisterlocks, you won't want to go back! Finally, there is a way of celebrating the natural beauty of our hair with Sisterlocks!

Q: How long does it take to do Sisterlocks?
A: The initial locking process takes about two-thirds as long as getting extensions of comparable size. For medium-length hair, this means about eight to twelve hours (maybe longer!). The beauty of Sisterlocks is that tightening them as your hair grows out is extremely simple since there are no extensions to remove and re-set.

Q: Can I do the locks myself?
A: This is not advised. Not all hair types require the same locking technique. Your hair care professional is the best trained to give you locks that will be best suited to you. Also, many hair care professionals are trained to give you cuts, styles, and grooming tips that will ensure the lasting beauty of your locks. By the way, once your Sisterlocks are well established you can take a Retightening Class to learn how to maintain your own hair. This is great for when you travel, have to miss an appointment, or if you just want to save money on long-term maintenance. Caution: We strongly recommend that you see a Consultant 2 to 3 times a year to keep your Sisterlocks looking beautiful!

Q: Will Sisterlocks cause my hair to break or thin?
A: Just the opposite! Sisterlocks is a gentle technique that requires no chemicals or excessive tightening and causes no damaging abrasion to the hair or scalp. You will find that with regular care, your locks will grow exponentially and your styling options will increase.
